Japan to host Iran film

'Cold Sweat' is scheduled to be screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival in Japan.

Directed by Soheil Beiraghi, the film is to vie at the Asian Future section of the event with seven other movies from around the world.

The film focusing on women rights shows a women's futsal team while one of the team members who is travel banned has to deal with a challenge at the airport.  

The film bagged several nominations and awards at the 36th Fajr Film Festival including a Crystal Simorgh for the Best Actor in a Leading Role which went to Amir Jadidi and another Crystal Simorgh for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role to Sahar Dolatshahi.

Filmiran, an Iranian film company, is distributing the film.

Established in 1985, the TIFF would be held biennially until 1991 and annually ever since.

Along with the Shanghai International Film Festival, TIFF is one of Asia's most important competitive film festivals, and the only Japanese festival accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations based in Paris.

The 31st edition of the Japanese event is slated to be held from October 25 to November 3, 2018.
